Viña Alicia Paso de Piedra Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
Winemaker’s Notes:
100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from 40-year-old vines located at 900 metres above sea level. The wine’s wonderful structure develops whilst fermenting – 50% steel tanks and 50% oak barrels. The wine is then aged for 8 months in second and third-use French and American oak barrels, prior to resting for at least 6 months in the bottle.
Christian’s Notes:
This is Viña Alicia’s entry level Cabernet Sauvignon and is a serious bargain given the quality of the wine. Deliciously complex, with the taste of red berries literally exploding in your mouth. Medoc-like in its structure, but exceeding most Bordeaux wines in the intensity of the fruit.
