The Malbec grapes that make this wonderfully fresh and fruity wine are from a vineyard located at 1,050m above sea level in the Vista Flores area of the Uco Valley. The rocky limestone soil, warm summers and low annual rainfall make for excellent growing conditions. Low temperatures during flowering means that there is a natural thinning on the vines, this leads to the remaining fruit achieving an excellent balance of sugars and acidity.

Awarded 90 points in July 2022 by Decanter magazine, coming 3rd in their review of 150 Argentinian Malbec wines under £20. Here's what the judges said: "Attractive aromas of forest fruits, bramble, violets and spices. Silky and smooth in texture, opulent with a great juicy purity fruit"

Antucura Barrandica Malbec

£17.00Price
  • Type: Red

    Grape: Malbec

    Year: 2021

    ABV: 14.2%

Region: Vista Flores, Valle De Uco, Mendoza

Food: This slightly lighter and drier style of Malbec is perfect to pair with vegetable based dishes, seasoned tofu, chicken or meatier fish. Sundried tomato, garlic, rosemary, sage, mushrooms, olives and onions are ideal partners. Not to mention the classics pairs of medium strength cheeses and steaks.

Tasting Notes: This is an unoaked Malbec with a beautiful nose of subtle raspberry and cherry. The red fruit flavours are quite pronounced but this balances well with the acidity and smooth intact tannins to produce a fabulous high end Malbec with a refined long finish.
